Radio Station: Status Update
Due to the extended time that Mexico held up our permit, the FCC has granted our Construction Permit with the stipulation that if there is a problem we will deal with it. We now have a Construction Permit from the FCC to begin the process of radio tower and station construction.
If you would, please continue to pray for the Lord’s blessing and for resources to build the tower and station. We have 36 months to get the radio station on the air. We are still trying to secure land lease for the tower in the particular area the FCC requires it to be located.
In the meanwhile we are looking at launching an internet radio site which will allow us the opportunity to test out the programming and the technological end of uploading and broadcasting music and teaching programs. Once this process has been worked out, we will use the Internet Radio site to advertise the actual radio station and vice a versa.
There are yet several calculated costs to getting the station on the air:
Additional Engineer fees
Transmitter and installation
Tower site lease, purchase and build
Computer system and associated software
License purchase for airing copyrighted music
How shall we pay for these items:
Your personal gifts to the Media Ministry (mark gifts as “Media Ministry”)
Gifts or Grants from various Christian Philanthropists and Organizations (There are some who will give without need for recognition)
Churches and business sponsorship for particular programs or specific radio time (“This half hour of Praise and Worship music was sponsored by XYZ Accounting”)
Church and Radio ministries paying for actual radio program time (this will come eventually, but not at first)
